I can't wait for sunday !

 

50% of all employees benefit from more free time nowadays in France. All that remains for them is to know what to do with it. Although the 35 hour working week may not have made us all happier, there are those who are making the most of their newfound spare time to devote themselves to their passions or rediscover pastimes or games played as children.
Leisure society lets people take bank holiday-style long weekends all year round. Reduced working time also gives us space to rethink our plans for the summer holidays.

These portraits are part of a reflection on the new notion of free time, and on changes in French society at a time when working time is being reconsidered. In the past, spare time was ''demonised'', due to its association with unemployment. However, mentalities are slowly changing and this is a chance to observe that change.

Maurice, 49 years old. He lives in a mobil-home at the Perroquet campsite. As a retired, he spends his time taking care of his garden.

Jean Pascal,27 years old. Hawker artist.
Nicolas, 26 years. Tuning fan. He spends all his weekends and all his money on his Honda Civic. For the past three years, he's been showing it off at all the gatherings which take place every two weeks. His girlfriend thinks he should care less about his car and more about her.
Vincent, 28 years, with Prudance, 2 and a half years: giant poodle, international champion
Jean Michel, 37 years old. Prize-winner of the official championship of bird-singing ( robin singing category).
André, 36 years old. "I dive at least two hours a week in this swimming pool. I know it by heart. It's a bit expensive but sometimes they organize day-trips on weekends."

Anne Sophie 28 year-old. "I regularly do electrotherapy sessions for my wellbeing and shaping of my body. I lose weight with no sweat and no effort.
